Ironically, this is also just my opinion, but bear with me. Secondly, player opinions and the whole "listening to feedback" thing. I feel this was the best thing we could have done.

We also banned the most toxic players from the official platforms and now, some time later, we have a very active and friendly community again while the subreddit is dead. What we did was completely started ignoring the entire subreddit (making it clear we would not read any feedback posted there) and used only the official channels to share the news.

What happened was that as soon as the "hardcore" players who felt entitled to tell the developers how to make their game saw something that wasn't exactly to their liking, they turned incredibly toxic and turned the whole subreddit into a saltmine. What we did was fall (at first) right into the trap of "players should be listened to and communicated with" and Reddit was pretty hot stuff at the time. As I mentioned before, I am also in the industry and am working on a project that can be classified as AAA. It is my opinion that the platform should be completely ignored by any official staff and definitely NOT be used as a communication platform. I think we have a fundamental misunderstanding in how things should be done, MAGA.įirst and foremost, Reddit.
